But Ganguly can relieve on the fact that His team's performance was improved a lot from the last year's IPL who was there in the last spot in last year.Any way they will be looking upon toady's match which greater enthusiasm to aim on a high which was very clear from skippers words "I work hard and am honest at my work. I worked on my fitness for six-seven months. Also the passion for Knight Riders to do well keeps me going. It's never difficult for me to motivate in any game I played. I'm sure today Kolkata will be in really a situation like this as a lose in this game will make them out of the semi-final hopes in the third edition of IPL.Toady Kolkata will be taking on Rajasthan Royals in their home ground of Eden Gardens.The good news to the Kolkata side is that they have won three out of five matches played in this ground and above the crowd support they will get in this field especially for the skipper Sourav Ganguly.
KKR is having a good number of options even then they fail to find which is the best combination.The West-Indian star striker Chris Gayle had shown only some glimpses of his talent as he scored only 2 half-centuries in this IPL.The other foreign players like Brendon Mccullum and David Hussey is also not in form.Though the leading run-scorer is the skipper himself Ganguly has exposed his inability to strike the ball hard at situations and also failed to increase the run-rate.

Even though Kolkata knight Riders are on the verge of extinction they still have the chance in the third edition of IPL.For that Kolkata have to win their next two matches somehow.Not only that they have to depend on other teams performance also.In that Chennai and Deccan has to lose their next all matches.I'm not mentioning Rajasthan here because Kolkata has one of their matches against Rajasthan.I f this happens then Mumbai ,Bangalore,Delhi and Kolkata will cruise into the semi-finals leaving all other teams at 12 points each.
Yesterday Delhi made a comprehensive win against Chennai which made Kolkata's hopes still alive.Today there is also one another important match in which Deccan has to face Punjab in Darmasala.Kolkata will also be looking at this match with prior importrance as in this match Kolkata will need a win by Punjab.While Kolkata has to face Rajasthan and Mumbai in their last two league matches.

Now I know why Ganguly is so dear for 'Kolkatans'.Yesterday Ganguly continued his fine form to keep Kolkata Knight Riders in the run to semifinals.The win achieved by Kolkata was not only by Ganguly himslf but also by the thousands of crowd that cheered for Kolkata's win.A 99 run partnership between Sehwag(64) and Gambhir(47) could not fight against these odds and was fell before 14 runs ahead of the target.

Earlier Ganguly (56) and Gayle(40) gave Kolkata a flying start as they reached 100 runs in ust 11 overs.Down the order Tiwary(26) and Mathews(46) played an important role in leading Kolkata to a good target of 181 in 20 overs.Delhi Dare Devils was down in the very first over itself as Dinda got the dangerous Warner-a five ball duck.Then Sehwag and Gambhir tried their best to bring Kolkata near to the target but was fell down in front of the Tactical Game played the Kokata skipper with his braveful fielding and bowling changes.Then none other from Delhi played well and was able to take only 167/8 in 20 overs.

Kolkata is now on the edge of "extinction" from 2010 IPL as today they will face a confident Delhi Daredevils.To be there in the context in the run for semi-finals Kolkata must have a desperate win on today's match.Kolkata skipper Ganguly have a unenviable task to lift the player's morale.
