     Paul Valthaty-a name so far unheard in the IPL.But today onwards his name will also be there in the top players list.Chasing a massive score of 180 runs in the ninth match of IPL-4 KXIP captain Adam ilchrist and Paul Vathaty gave them a flier as both of them swung their bat all over the ground.It was an all out attack from the Kings Xi openers.In bowling also Praveen Kumar of Kings XI gave them a flying start as he got the wicket of Srikanth Anirudh in the very first ball itself.Also he got the wicket of Suresh Raina in the same over.Definitely a dreamy start for Kings XI.

Yesterday the Kolkata Knight Riders team didn't went for the practice session at the evening.All the time they were there in front of the TV set watching praying for Dhoni's team's loss in that match.But even after scoring a huge total of 190+ Punjab can't kept Chennai from reaching the target.Now the result is that for Kolkata to reach in the semi-finals they have to beat in form Mumbai Indians for a high run-rate.The run-rate which could reach them +.3 to -.3.
But Ganguly can relieve on the fact that His team's performance was improved a lot from the last year's IPL who was there in the last spot in last year.Any way they will be looking upon toady's match which greater enthusiasm to aim on a high which was very clear from skippers words "I work hard and am honest at my work. Even though Kolkata knight Riders are on the verge of extinction they still have the chance in the third edition of IPL.For that Kolkata have to win their next two matches somehow.Not only that they have to depend on other teams performance also.In that Chennai and Deccan has to lose their next all matches.I'm not mentioning Rajasthan here because Kolkata has one of their matches against Rajasthan.I f this happens then Mumbai ,Bangalore,Delhi and Kolkata will cruise into the semi-finals leaving all other teams at 12 points each.
Yesterday Delhi made a comprehensive win against Chennai which made Kolkata's hopes still alive.Today there is also one another important match in which Deccan has to face Punjab in Darmasala.Kolkata will also be looking at this match with prior importrance as in this match Kolkata will need a win by Punjab.While Kolkata has to face Rajasthan and Mumbai in their last two league matches.

It was all like that,Rising from the ash .After losing the toss Punjab KingsXI was forced to bat first.All the batsmen found it hard to score the runs and they scored only 136 runs in the score board.Probably a low score game.Every one thought that they will easily win the game.But we can't say rthat the game is over without actually over.Cricket is all like that.Till 14-th over Chennai were cruising to the target.But suddenly eberything changed When Suresh Raina got out .Then everyone were competing among themselves to reavh the pavilion.Chennai was able to score only 136 runs and the match tied.
Then comes the interested "Super Over".Chennai scored only 9 runs when Hayden and Raina got out.But in return Punjab scored 10 runs in just 4 runs and registered their first win in IPL 3-rd edition....

KOLKATA PAYS FOR LAZY AT THE END...

Kolkata was there in the front seat till the 15-th over the Chennai's innings. But then the climax changed .Dhoni and Badrinath also changed their gear to the top position and scored around 65 runs in the last 5 overs.
Earlier winning the toss Dhoni decided to bat first .Ishant strikes in the beginning itself when he bowled Hayden for just 1 run.Then came Raina but he and Vijay gone while they concentrated to increase the run rate.Then Dhoni and Badrinath took the steering but in the beginning they were very controlled and they build the score in one's and two's.But when it reached 15 over suddenly they changed the speed and smashed Kolkata bowlers all around the grond and posted a fighting total of 164 in 20 overs.
Kolkata begun their innings by losing Hodge with no run in the score board and none of the batsmen found in rhythm.All were competing among themselves to reach the pavilion as fast as posible and they paid for their 'hurriness'....

Will it happen even this time?In the third edition of IPL I think Kolkata knight Riders will make their slogan come true!!!!I think the change in their jersey's colour has brought a luck as well as fighting spirit to the Knight Riders.
With a stunning win against the last year champions and first runners up have bought Kolkata top in the table.In their first match Kolkata ran over Deccan Chargers for 11 runs and then they beat Royal Challengers Bangalore for 7 wickets.The batting department is strong led by Angelo Mathews and their bowlind field is also strong which is led by Ishant and Langevedlt.Ishant who was hard to find his line and length in the International matches near days was in good form in the first two matches.
Even though Sourav Ganguly hadn't played well in batting;He performed very well in the Captaincy which he only can achieve.We can't consider the fact that the first win against Deccan was mostly depended on Ganguly's last hours sensible fielding and bowling changes.....
Now today it will be interesting to watch how Ganguly and his "Team" can make Dhoni's "Team" under pressure.The match starts at 8pm.
