Sehwag-The One Man Army.

An incredible century by Delhi Daredevils captain Virendar Sehwag helped them to have a win over Deccan Chargers by four wickets with one over to spare and kept them alive in the hunt. Deccan's opening bowlers Dale Steyn and Ishant Sharma fired early in the Daredevil's innings and reduced them to 25 runs for three wickets. But Sehwag was not in a mood to surrender before them as he freed his arms in the sixth over of the innings. In that over of the debutant Ishan Malhotra he scored  23 runs and kept the match alive. In the tenth over Deccan got a very good chance to come back to the match but Ankit Sharma drooped Sehwag's catch as he was there with just 54 runs. If he had taken that catch then I'm sure the match result would have changed. Then Sehwag hadn't any option and he completed all in a jiffy and in a style. He played some sensational shots to which was very much rewarded by the crowd.
Earlier Deccan Chargers winning the toss elected to bat first which was very much justified by their batsmen and scored a huge total of 175 runs. J P Duminy stars the Deccan's innings as he scored his first half-century (55) runs and had a brilliant partnership with Dan Christian (27) , the duo making 71 runs partnership in 39 balls.

Steyn's SIX....

A pitch with serene green grass, cloudy atmosphere....all the conditions were similar to that we found in the first test and Indian batsmen also did the same.Indian batsmen have played on themselves and thrown away their wickets in too the hand's of the Protease. Some balls were unplayable and some were due to bad shot selection, even then Indian batsmen never learned from their mistake,Only thing they can boast of themselves is that they had done marginally well in the second test when compared to the first test .In the second test India is all out for 205 runs while in the first test they were all out for just 136 runs.A marginal increase the runs scored.
If on the first day it was Dale Steyn who toggled the Indian batting order then on the early morning of Steyn was accompanied by Morne Morkel to wipe out the Indian team for 205 runs.Even though most of the batsmen have reached their double figures Laxman is the top scorer among them with only 38 runs. From this it is very clear that the batsmen have got a good starting and was not able to carry it over to a good innings.
In reply South Africa have lost their first wicket at 23 runs.Congrats to Zaheer Khan for claiming this one.He is returned after injury in this test and hope he can do well inthis test and give India a victory .Also we can hope that Zaheer's coming back in the test will also energize the rest of the bowlers....

"STEYN" HURRICANE....MASSIVE DESTRUCTION....

No,no never ever I have seen such an Indian team failing in their home ground in the recent years. The whole Indian team failed miserably over one bowler ,and that is Dale Steyn of South Africa, not the matter why Steyn is the no: one bowler in the world.South Africa registered their win in the first test match in Nagpur making the series 1-0.It was 8 years back When India had to follow-on against Australia. And also it was only their third innings lost as South Africa won by an innings and 6 runs. This was also the first lose of the Indian team under the captaincy of M.SDhoni.
The home side had some individual performances as Sehwag and Sachin struck tons but was in vain as the other team members didn't gave any support.Int the first innings Sehwag alone build up the Indian innings and all others were mere audience. In his second spell Steyn took 5 wickets in just 3.4 over giving only 3 runs. This test match clearly shows that Indian cricket team is a "big zero" without Dravid and Laxman.
Hashim Amla was awarded the Man Of The Match for his glorious 253* runs in the first innings.Dale Steyn was just missed out as he became the first bowler to pick 10 wickets in a test in India.

Gambhir....No:1 at the end of 2009

First of all I wish a warm 2010 ahead for all my reader's....
India's opening batsmen Gautam Gambhir ranked no:1 at the end of 2009 ICC world rankings. His opening partner Sehwag remained static in the table at no:4.Srilanka's top two players Sangakka and Jayawardane were in between Sehwag and Gambhir.Sachin Tendulkar was there in the list in the 13-th position.
While in the bowling department India's Harbhajan Singh was there at sixth and Zaheer dropping one place to 11-th with Dayle Steyn at the top of the table.
